Another place to find some great grooves is Creative Links. It's a foster child of former Detroit bluesman Richard Smith and actress Ilene Evans of "voices from the Earth". The two offer classes and provide performance space for folks wanting to create their own musical events. Recently, Trish Bowyer and the band Pandora held CD release parties at Creative Links. Bowyer is a young Elkinsite whose first release, Killed Her And Replaced Her, features a dozen of her originals with Pandora supplying the music. The disc was recorded and produced by Elkins-based Lone Wolf Studios. The first time Bowyer sang in an Elkins coffeehouse a few years back, I heard a hush fall over the crowd. This young lady commands your attention with her sexy style, powerful image, lyrics and vocal strength.
